Ashley Richter has a bachelor’s degree in sociology, summa cum laude with high distinction, from the University of Minnesota, and her law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School, cum laude, with a concentration in family law. During law school, Ashley worked as a law clerk in a small general practice firm and volunteered with the Restraining Order Clinic at the Dane County Courthouse.
Ashley practices in all areas of family law, including serving as a guardian ad litem for the best interests of the children in contested matters, civil litigation, personal injury, estate planning, probate, misdemeanor criminal defense, restraining orders and residential real estate matters. Ashley is the past President of the Legal Association for Women, a volunteer with the Dane County Family Law Assistance Center providing free procedural advice to pro se litigants, and is also involved with the Dane County Bar Mentorship program, the James E. Doyle Inns of Court, and Dane County Bar Association. Ashley has also contributed to the development of the materials for the statewide high school mock trial program and served as a judge of high school mock trial competition since 2010.
In her free time Ashley enjoys quilting, boating, fishing, and camping with her family and two dogs.
